Blogroll
For The Site Itself:
-
i-land - This has nothing to do with Apple devices. It appears to be some kind of artsy fartsy point-and-click adventure. It seems goal-less.
-
Clippy PFP Movement [knowyourmeme.com] - I have not looked into this deeply so far but in light of all the tringulation of your personal life online these days someone said "why not we all change our PFPs to Clippit?" Basis seems to be something about how Clippit, despite arguably being a bad-faith feature, did not try to find out your insecurities and age.
-
YTMND - Some ancient site central to meme culture. It has retained the same layout since 2010. The format of its content seem very simple, there's a slideshow of some kind paired with a looping audio track. It does not even seem to stream the audio, instead opting to download all assets in one go.
-
Picato.net - Another site that seems frozen in time. I have no idea how such a hyperspecific socmed has remained online since seemingly 2006 but it has. Here it is.
-
BLOOB - i worry my bad website taste extends between fictional universes (also ugh it's a wix site. but anyways - )
-
Wigglypaint - [Mario Paint BGM intensifies]
I do not feel like i'd actually use this thing any time soon, but, like, look at it. Tell me that is not sprinkus. I don't know what i am even saying. Anyways -
-
Alison Zai - ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
-
piddles.net , hoopsandyoyo.com [archive] - i strongly believe hoops and yoyo can easily be used to personify the legendary 'last remaining braincells' in a person
Tools or similar, idk this is not a very good catagorisation system:
-
MakeSweet - "[name] my beloved"
-
Cobalt - A very nice online video downloader that unfonturnately is not able to download from Youtube.
-
UniversalDownloader - A very nice online video downloader that can still download from Youtube.
-
Meme Deep Frier - It does what the title says. It's a page where you can upload an image file and it deep fries it, and it's very easy to use, and i use it relatively often.
-
yt-dlp - Command-line youtube download tool that nerds might find useful. Very good. Note that using apt to install might not work alone; agressive blockjitsu on YT's end mean having a recent version is important. Thankfully the tool has its own update function.
-
(I've also heard rumours of the FreeTube client. I personally have yet to use it yet.)
-
uBlock Origin - This is an obvious one, the best (and i say this waaaay more definitively than usual as it is also the only, like trust me it has 100% block rate) adblocker I have ever used.
-
Firefox Browser - another obvious one. Mobile version supports the above. Plus idk like i am a hipster okay? idc. i want to use this thing. you do not get to convince me otherwise.
Legacy:
TV Tropes - This website is a wiki of commonly used story elements in media. It is self-depreciating in the way that it claims it will "ruin your life" via unlimited wikiwalk potential. I have experienced this myself.
Alex Parr - This site has the honor of being the first Neocities website i visited. It had a free tier URL so i was able to simply delete the the part before "neocities.org" that says "this is x part of y website" (i hope i have defined a subdomain correctly)
billwurtz - This was a musical artist I had an interest in some years ago. It was when I found out that i liked jazz as until then i thought all jazz was boring chill jazz.
Bill Wurtz music is now too empty and not flowing enough compared to my tastes (to make it clear my tastes were the thing changing here) which is why i have found myself transitioned to
smooth jazz, especially The Rippingtonsf*king soundclown(don't worry i have just discovered) japanese city jazz, as the Rippingtons (which i still fancy somewhat) are not rights cleared for my region. All music on the site is available gratis. He seems to have dissapeared off Earth, as his last post is roughlythreealmost four years ago as of writing this.MelonLand Forum
-
This is where the cool kidz on the indieweb hang out or smth. Melon has curated
a sprawling presence and indieweb community online. That's all I know.
(They have a theme
that is better suited for less powerful computers).KatiePla.net - All I know is that this user seemed to be a newcomer to Neocities. I decided to point to her website to direct extra traffic there and fill this page.
Coffeebug
-
I had a brief interest in this musical artist for a period in '23 or whenever, when I was just getting
onto Neocities. She makes all-GM midi compositions and the technical level of her music has increased sharply,
especially timing between instruments. I no longer listen to Coffeebug music.-
The ✨️internet✨️ used to be* fun - This is a list of articles which i so far imagine to be related some how to why the small handcrafted model of the web needs to return. I say "so far imagine" as I came across this directory some time ago hoping it would help me intergrate into the small web sphere but i still haven't touched a majority of the articles.
The Verge - Modern corpo tech news web site that tries to stay swift and fresh(has been paywalled into oblivion)
Webhosts (where you can host websites)
Calm socmeds for virtue-signalling (i am on all these. as who? (that's secret.))
Pinterest - Tumblr - Reddit - Soundcloud
Youtubers (all legacy links)
Note I am going to bandwagon on here and warn that yes, Youtube are apparently
going to machine-verify your age, which is why i have taken the (puny) precaution (quote and quote) of removing the direct links to these profiles.
Strangely I have heard nothing new about this as of 2025, Sept 13.
-
@DeadlyComicsYT - This is a dood that uploads once every sixteen bajillion years and it is among the most artsy fartsy stuff ive seen ever
-
@MachoBoyANIM - This one is simpler. They have a cool show involving a cute robot girl in a video game. They also upload infrequently.
